The assessment of the current state of the implementation of the Basel Core Principles for Effective Banking Supervision (BCP) in Nigeria, against the BCP methodology issued by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) in October 20061, was completed between August 27 and September 19, 2012, as part of a Financial Sector Assessment Program (FSAP) update, undertaken jointly by the Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, and reflects the regulatory and supervisory framework in place as of the date of the completion of the assessment.
